International Council on Alcohol and Addictions
Conseil international sur les problèmes de l’ alcoolisme et des toxicomanies
ICAA is committed to delivering conferences and workshops, which are accessible to and meet the needs of all interested parties
In an exciting "first" for both organizations WOCAD and ICAA delivered a highly successful Convention on Women in Addiction. * Aimed at practitioners, policy-makers and hands-on researchers, and focussing uniquely on Women, the Programme was structured around the practical exploration of the four broad topic areas of Treatment, Adolescence, Social Issues and Education and Prevention.
Participants were strongly supportive of both the content and methodology of the Convention and in their evaluation expressed an unequivocal demand for further and larger events to be delivered.
A full report and the Resolutions of the Convention can be found at Women in Addiction
Several contributors have kindly agreed to allow publication of their convention presentations. These can be accessed through the ICAA Research page.
Whilst this convention focussed specifically on the needs of women and girls, ICAA and WOCAD recognise the wide range of gender identities and acknowledge and support the right of all people to services which are accessible and non-discriminatory.
